Our History
August Frisch purchased the business after Carl Tennie passed away in the early 1960s and sold the business to his son Brian in 1992. Brian and his wife Karen opened a second location at 523 Main Street in Oshkosh (the former Russ Kenyon Jewelers site) in 1993. As of 2019, their daughter Rebecca has bought and continued their family tradition and will maintain the Tennie's legacy for years to come.
Our friendly professional staff combines over 245 years of experience in the jewelry business, and catering to the needs of our customers has become one of our trademarks.
We believe in offering only the jewelry which we would love to wear and at a price that we would be willing to spend.
We are a full-service jewelry store, with four bench jewelers on-site, to provide fast, reasonably priced, high-quality service from a simple watch battery replacement to custom design, restoration, and appraisals. Estimates, cleaning, and inspections are always free at Tennie's.

Rebecca Frisch-Juedes

I am the third generation of the Frisch family to work at Tennie's Jewelry. I started working part-time for my parents after high school graduation in 2002. In 2004, I earned a marketing degree from Fox Valley Technical College and completed a course in goldsmithing and stone setting.
I graduated from the bench tech program at Texas Institute of Jewelry Technology in Paris, Texas, and became a JA Certified Bench Jeweler in 2005. In the summer of 2011, I received my GIA Diamond Grading certificate. I now own the business as of January 2019 and am very excited about what the future holds for Tennie's Jewelry.
I really enjoy working with my family and getting to know all of our customers.
Brian Frisch

I started working with my parents Edith and August Frisch upon graduating from high school in 1977 and attended Stubies School of Jewelry Repair and Manufacturing in 1977. In 1985, I received my Gemological Diploma for Diamond Grading from the Gemological Institute of America. I purchased the Appleton store from my parents in February of 1992 and opened the Oshkosh location in 1993. My wife Karen and I welcomed our daughter, Rebecca, into the family business in 2002.
I enjoy all of the relationships with our customers, both old and new. We will provide friendly and honest service to all for many years to come.
Karen Frisch

I married my husband Brian Frisch in 1979 and was welcomed into the family business in 1981. I learned the retail jewelry business working in the store with my husband and my in-laws, August and Edith Frisch. The family business has grown immensely in the 31 years I have been here, the most notable was the purchase of a second store in Oshkosh in 1993.
I have met many friends and loyal customers through the years and we enjoy getting to know each and every one of them. I look forward to serving all of our customers for many more years to come.
Peggy Franzmeier

My career in jewelry began with my very first job working for an independent jeweler when I was still in high school. I learned a lot of my basic skills in customer service, jewelry repair, ring sizing, restringing, and engraving. I then attended and graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College – Milwaukee’s watchmaking program where I had also studied jewelry fabrication, repair, and casting. While attending college, I worked in the repair department of a major department store and a wholesale jewelry supply house. Upon graduation, I served a one-year apprenticeship and then passed the state board exam, becoming one of the few women licensed watchmakers in the state and a Certified Master Watchmaker. I continue to hone my skills through industry programs, seminars, conventions, and trade journals.
At Tennie's, I enjoy working with customers, appraisals, restringing, watch and jewelry repair, special orders, bookkeeping, window displays, engraving, and anything else I can do to make sure our customer’s experience here is a pleasant one.
Robert Tyler

I attended Northeast Wisconsin Technical College from 1999 to 2000 and received a technical degree in jewelry repair and fabrication. I also received a Certified Bench Jeweler Technician certificate from Jewelers of America. I attend seminars annually to stay on top of all the latest techniques, tools and technology available. In the summer of 2011, I received my GIA Diamond Grading certificate.
I like working with jewelry, whether it be repairing and restoring, or designing and fabricating new pieces. I enjoy working with all of our customers on a one-on-one basis.
Amy Kopischke

I began my jewelry career in 1987 as a sales associate for a chain store. In 1993, I started working at Tennie's Jewelry of Appleton and trained under Brian and Karen and August and Edith Frisch to manage the Oshkosh location that opened later that year. At that time, I also studied the Gemological Institute of America’s Diamond course.
My duties at Tennie's include sales, bookkeeping, pearl stringing, displays, and overseeing the day-to-day operations at the Oshkosh location.
Karlie Trochil

I began my jewelry career at a chain store in 2016 as a goldsmith for a little over 2 years. I started at Tennie’s Jewelry September of 2019 and trained under all of the knowledgeable associates that have worked in the industry for many years.
I love working in the jewelry industry and meeting all of our amazing clients. I am excited to learn as much as I can and build relationships with our wonderful guests.
My duties at Tennie's include sales, simple jewelry repair, social media design, and custom designing.
Emma Resch

I began working in Jewelry at a chain store three years ago. I started at Tennie's Jewelry in September of 2020. Since my first day , I have had the honor of working with and learning under my fellow associates.
I am eager to develop my skills and meet all of our clients every chance I get.
My duties at Tennie's include sales, inventory control, and simple jewelry repairs.
