Shop local: Small Business Saturday at Tennies Jewelry
November marks a very special time of year. A time where we celebrate and recognize the gratitude we have and the people we love. Black Friday has become a well-known and popular event over the decades. People spend time sifting through promotional ads, and planning their moves throughout the day.
Small Business Saturday was founded in 2010 by American Express with the mission to encourage people to shop local, and support the small businesses within our communities.
The movement is more than just encouraging people to shop; the movement is all about supporting our communities, and helping to make dreams come true. Small Business Saturday and shopping local in general can have great impact on local communities.
For example, when you buy from local businesses, they grow. They hire people from the community to work, and eventually with more customers and more help, their business can continue to grow. This puts money back into the pockets of your community members, and back into the community in which you live.
This year over 80 small businesses in Appleton are taking it up a notch and offering you even more chances to save when you shop local with the “Shop Appleton First Small Business Passport”. As you make purchases at participating businesses, present your passport to earn a stamp. The more stamps you have in your passport the more changes you have to win exclusive prizes! Passports are available for pick-up at the ADI office, businesses within the City Center and Fox Communities Credit Union locations on Wisconsin Ave. and Calumet St. starting November 17th. Limited passports are available, so get yours right away! Full details can be found inside the passport.
